We were lucky enough to catch up with Freddie Oufi from Oufi London this week after the launch of their new collection and he gave us this exclusive interview...
H&G: What inspired you to get into handbag design?
Freddie: I've always loved fashion from an early age. So it was a natural transgression in later life to accept an offer for an opportunity to supply handbags...the rest is history.
H&G: Who are your fashion icons past or present? Who's sense of style do you most admire?
Freddie: There is not icon in particular more of a high street look that I go for. I try to interpret what I like best from what I see and from what my "Antena" buzzes me. I am constantly on the lookout or take notice of significant changes in the fashion scene. London is a great place for inspiration and dynamism which I would want to interpret within the OUFI collection for showcasing on the website.
H&G: What was your inspiration for the latest handbag collection?
Freddie: Most of the content was inspired from the latest Dolce and Gabbana collection. Their extent of imagination is unbounded giving much fuel for thought to others who follow them.

H&G: What celebrities would you love to see carrying an Oufi handbag?
Freddie: I think Kate Moss is a cause celebre within the fashion world. She is a sensational seal of approval. She has something about her that can encapsulates all of today's fashion attributes.
H&G: Is there one piece in your latest collection which you are particularly fond or proud of and why?
Freddie: Yes, Dita! There was no inspiration to recycle this look but an individual gut feeling to do so.

H&G: What three words sum up the latest Oufi collection?
Freddie: Fun, Chic and Affordable.
